The Sugar Bread
There once was a poor little boy who was given three sweet sticky rolls and a dime form a genorous rich man. The little boy was poor and had no house to sleep in. So he decided to sleep on a rock. He ate ONE of the rolls and put the other two in a pouch along with the dime on top of the rock, then he fell asleep. When he awoke the other two rolls were gone along with the dime. All that was left were the sticky remians of the rolls on the rock and the empty pouch.
As it so happens, the rich wise judge was passing by and saw the little boy crying by the rock. He asked the little boy why he was crying and the litte boy told him.
"Well," said the man " The only thing that could have taken these rolls and your dime is that rock. It was the only one close enough to the rolls at the time.The rock is most certianly guilty!" The wise man called evryone in the town to the courthouse were he put the rock on trial. Everyone thought this was absurd and laughed as the judge began questioning the rock.
" How dare you mock my court" said the judge
He made everyone pay a fine for such rudeness. He go out a huge pot of water and made everyone contribute a dime. He watched as everyone dropped their money in the water and immediatley discovered the theif.
